From Salento, at the southernmost tip of Puglia in the heel of the boot, and more specifically from the town of Lecce. Its origins lie in peasant culture: simple ingredients, rich flavours, typical of Italian street food.
Puccia is an Italian bread baked over a wood fire, about 15 cm in diameter, with a light, honeycombed dough that's both delicious and crunchy, perfect for delicious hot sandwiches.
They are prepared with a dough similar to pizza dough and topped with local, seasonal produce.
